The 'Way Home’ Walk
The 'Way Home' Walk is a very different approach to reflection and personal discovery. It combines a gentle walk in a stunning location, some of Wordsworth's inspirational poetry and personal reflection time to help you gain some new perspectives on life.
So why the 'Way Home'? For Wordsworth, the idea of home, particularly Dove Cottage, was more than just the physical building.... it was about realising his calling to be a poet, it was about community, both family and friends, a place to be creative with others who shared his vision. Walking in Wordsworth's footsteps, we will visit some of the places that were influential in his development as a poet. His poetry can still inspire us today.
The 'Way Home’ Walk is an opportunity for you explore what home means to you. You will have some quality time to reflect on the important moments in your life and to think about your vision for the future. Whether you just need a time out from life’s busy routine, to seek some creative ideas or you are at a crossroads and looking for a new direction, the walk will give you the inspiration you need .
The 'Way Home' Walk works well as a 1:1 coaching session or you can join one of our open events and enjoy some fruitful conversations with like-minded souls. The format of the walk also works well for teams and organisations looking for a different way to think about their collective vision for the future.
'As I am at a 'T' junction in terms of my professional direction, the day allowed me to stop and breathe for a while which is something I don't generally do.'

'Nature’s Way' Walk
The 'Nature's Way' Walk is a chance to slow down and really appreciate the beauty of the Lake District. It is a four mile walk that explores the varied and beautiful countryside between Rydal and Grasmere. Along the way, we will read some of Wordsworth’s nature poetry, visit the places that inspired him and take time to appreciate the beauty of this lovely place. Bring a sketchpad or notebook, or just yourselves and enjoy the day!
William Wordsworth was passionate about nature. Some of his very best poetry reflects how nature can restore, rejuvenate and delight the human spirit. He was an early conservationist too, realising that (even then!), we need to take more care of the world we live in.... 'Nature never did betray the heart that loved her'.
'I am always grateful for the opportunity to spend time in The Lakes and to do this with the backdrop of Wordsworth and the imagery from his words was especially unique'
About the Walks
The walks are low level, taken at a gentle pace, and suitable for most levels of fitness. Reflection and appreciation are the order of the day and they are best done slowly! The walks start and finish at Rydal, meeting at 10.00 and finishing around 4.00. All you will need is a good pair of walking shoes, some warm clothes and waterproofs and a packed lunch. We have a selection of boots, waterproofs and rucksacks which you are welcome to use, if you do not have your own.
Both Walks are open to groups of 1 to 20. The walks would be great to do with a group of like-minded souls, so one option would be to bring your book club, walking club or even creative writing group and enjoy some time together in one of the most beautiful corners of England. We are happy to tailor the walk to meet your needs. The cost of the day is from £25 per person, depending on numbers.
